As you all know, actress Rashmika Mandanna and actor Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot in February 2026, following a long-term relationship. The couple hosted a grand wedding ceremony in Udaipur, the photos of which continue to win the hearts of fans across the internet to this day.

In 2025, Rashmika starred in Rahul Ravindran’s film “The Girlfriend”, for which she has now received the ‘Best Actress’ award at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards. This marked Rashmika’s first public appearance to accept an award since her marriage, and she attended the event accompanied by her mother-in-law.

When Rashmika took the stage to accept her ‘Best Actress’ award, she delivered a truly heartwarming speech. Upon hearing her words, her mother-in-law, Madhavi Deverakonda, felt an overwhelming sense of pride in her daughter-in-law, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Rashmika Said:

“There was a time when I was trolled for my performance. But now, I have received an award for my performance from the state. So, I feel like I’ve come a long way. It’s extremely special to receive this award for a film like The Girlfriend. It gives us the confidence to make more films like this.” Rashmika went on to add, “It is my first festival as a married woman, and I actually completed my pooja before heading to the award ceremony. It was beautiful and I feel contended.”

During the event, an anchor remarked that—aside from her first Ugadi—this marks Rashmika’s first victory since marrying Vijay. Upon hearing this, Rashmika responded:

“Before I became a daughter-in-law, you loved me like a daughter. Today, I stand before you officially as a daughter-in-law. It gives me great pride, and I will always be super grateful for your love. The only wish I have now is for everyone to share that love with my family, too.”

Rashmika turns towards her mother-in-law and says:

“Papalu, I did it. Now let’s go home and party.”
