Rob Shuter is a British-American journalist, magazine editor, gossip columnist, talk show host, and author. Recently, A-list publicist Rob Shuter has been transforming his career experiences into a fictional narrative. Rob is currently preparing to release his first work of fiction on April 21st. Titled “It Started with a Whisper”, the book tells the story of four gossip reporters who host a morning show on a struggling cable network.
Rob Shuter previously hosted a podcast titled “Naughty But Nice with Rob”. Shuter has represented stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi, Jessica Simpson, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Naomi Campbell, and Paris Hilton.
While Rob Shuter’s book is indeed fictional, it is inspired by his real life. Rob co-hosted an entertainment news program on VH1 called “The Gossip Table”, which ran for two years, from 2013 to 2015. In his book, Rob has depicted his past experiences from his time on “The Gossip Table”.

In an interview, Rob Shuter revealed that he used to keep a diary while he was working on “The Gossip Table”.
“I was looking back over my diary, reminiscing about all the funny, crazy, cruel, happy, upsetting things that happened, and I figured out very quickly that this is a book, this is a potential TV show.”
Rob explains:
“You’re a therapist, you’re a publicist, you’re a bag holder, you’re a best friend. Looking back on it, I have such fond memories; when I was living it, it was quite tough.”
Rob loved covering the breakups of the most famous celebrities. Rob worked on the breakup of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in 2004, and that of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey in 2005.
Rob Said:
“You know it’s going to explode, that it’s going to make worldwide news, and so actually crafting this breakup statement can be quite tricky. Asking for privacy is actually quite odd because you’re putting out a statement. I love the dichotomy of that; it did make me giggle.”
He adds:
“I also loved the human aspect, during your darkest hour of real personal crisis, you’re on the phone with your publicist crafting a statement.”
He teases:
“I think people reading the book closely will recognize some of the people.”
